Overall spontaneous speed of locomotion of transgenic BlaP197-polyQ chimera strains on (a) day 1 and (b) day 3 of adulthood is similar to wild type speed. Wild type animals and a slowly moving amyloid-Aβ42 expressing strain serve as appropriate normal (negative) and slow (positive) controls, respectively (n = 13-22 for each condition). The values obtained for the positive control strain are significantly different from those obtained for the wild-type animals at both times [P values <0.001 (***)]. Error bars indicate standard error of the mean
