a The effects of AAu1–AAu3 on the viability of A. castellanii belonging to T4 genotype. Briefly A. castellanii (5 × 105 trophozoites) were incubated with gold thiolates at 37 °C for 24 h. Next day, Trypan blue exclusion assays were performed and amoebae were counted using haemocytometer. Note that none of the compounds shows significant effect on the viability of A. castellanii as compared to control.
