In situ hybridization of transgenic (a-f) and wild-type APP/PS1 mouse brains (g-i) at the age of 12 months. Plaque staining is obtained exclusively in transgenic hippocampal formation with sense (e; f; h; i) and antisense (b; c) probes for Cdh11 and Pcdh10. Amyloid beta immunohistochemistry confirmed the large number of plaques in the transgenic sections (d) with no staining visible in wild-type sections (g).
