Histological analyses of slices from the small intestine of mice pre-treated or not with S. boulardii and subjected to mucositis induction. Normal histological aspects in mucosa were observed in mice from the Control and Control + Sb groups (A and C). Increased infiltration of cells in the lamina propria (*) and alterations in the Lieberkün crypt glands (arrow) were observed in mice that developed mucositis (B and D). Bar = 50 μm.
